A fantastic race! There's something about people yelling at you in a foreign language that keeps you smiling through the whole race. As you can see from my times, I was having a great race at the halfway point... i'd been training in Pecs for 2 months beforehand, but had only been running for about 2 hours every couple days. Some of the foreigners were complaining that it was a "hot" race; looks like that acclimation period really helped me out. Not surprisingly, at the 23 km point my legs started to cramp up and I had to frequently stop and stretch. Thank goodness for the thermal baths at the end of the race! Next time I must train for more than 2 hours at a time!
